WASHINGTON, US — Observers of the Financial Times, citing their own sources of information, reported that the official representatives of one of the largest manufacturers of military and space equipment in the world, the American company General Dynamics [GD], announced their readiness to produce new Abrams tanks for Ukraine, which produce in their own facilities.
- 22 weeks of abbreviated Abrams tank crew training for Ukraine
- Tests of new programmable ammunition for Abrams tanks continue
- Ukrainian Abrams will be neutered due to highly classified armor
In particular, representatives of GD explained that the company’s plant located in the city of Lima in Ohio, capable of producing about 12 units of American Abrams main battle tanks, will be involved for these purposes. Also, according to them, the company’s management is currently awaiting clarification from the Pentagon on whether it is necessary to prioritize the production of tanks for Ukraine over other orders.
In turn, military experts from the Financial Times highlighted the fact that the Abrams tanks promised to the Kyiv regime is not only difficult to operate and maintain, but also require significant logistical support due to high fuel consumption.
31 promised tanks
Washington promised Kyiv that 31 tanks would be delivered by the end of the year. This decision was announced in the middle of last month after Germany and Britain also allowed the re-export of their main battle tanks to Ukraine.
However, Washington emphasized that it will take time to deliver the Abrams tanks. The Pentagon is not committed to exact deadlines. The US will have to consider which re-export versions to supply to Ukraine.
Sources claim that it is impossible for Abrams tanks, either Series 1 or 2, from the US Army’s inventory to be delivered to Ukraine due to the secrecy of their armor. Most likely, US analysts say, Ukraine will receive deeply crippled Abrams tanks.
