The Canadian newspaper quoted officials from Canada’s military department. The newspaper says that according to sources in the Royal Canadian Air Force, C-17 military transport planes could transport the Leopards to Poland. From there they will be delivered to Ukraine.
112 Leopard 2 tanks are in service in the inventory of the Canadian Land Forces. According to the Ottawa Citizen, one part is earmarked for repair. Another part is used to train young Canadian soldiers. According to local sources, Ottawa is considering sending a minimum of 10 Leopard 2 tanks. The number is likely to be higher.
Asked by journalists, Canadian Prime Minister Mr. Justin Trudeau said that it is possible to send tanks to Ukraine. However, he did not commit to confirming that the decision had been made. According to him, there will be more clarity regarding the possible sending of Canadian Leopards to Ukraine in the coming days.

BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that Germany was put under serious pressure from several allies for permission to re-export German Leopard 2 tanks. Berlin countered by wanting the US to also participate by sending its Abrams main battle tank.
First, Germany authorized the dispatch of the Leopards, and a day later, on January 25, the American president confirmed that 31 Abrams tanks would go to Kyiv. According to unconfirmed information, the US has threatened Germany with isolation if it does not satisfy the desire of some European countries to send German Leopard 2 tanks to the war. Yesterday, January 25, Ukrainian President Mr. Volodymyr Zelensky turned 45 years old, and as a birthday present, reports began to arrive about which country is sending how many tanks.
Canada may “join the birthday party” even if belatedly. Since the beginning of the war, Ottawa has been in solidarity with Kyiv. The Canadians are sending infantry vehicles, 155mm towed howitzers, ammunition and artillery shells, medical supplies, other military equipment, supplies, and humanitarian aid.
