MOSCOW ($1=68.10 Russian Rubles) — The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced on December 22 that two Ukrainian warplanes had been shot down. It is about MiG-29s, which is in service with the Ukrainian Air Force. Both fighters were shot down over Donetsk.
Ukrainian MiG-29s were shot down in the air after being intercepted. The Russian Air Force raised two of its fighters, which carried out a successful operation to eliminate the threat.
According to the press release from the Russian Ministry of Defense, Ukrainian fighter jets were preparing to launch an attack. One of the two MiG-29s was hit over the village of Shevchenko, the other over the village of Bogatyr.
“Fighters of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down two MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force in the areas of the villages of Shevchenko and Bogatyr,” the official statement said.
The Russian Ministry of Defense also released information about the lost air equipment from Ukraine. According to the Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian Air Force has so far lost 350 aircraft and 188 helicopters. According to Moscow, Kyiv currently has 20 helicopters of various types and 30 fighter jets.
2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine

Ukraine denied being involved in both incidents and called them a false flag.

On 24 February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an invasion of Ukraine by Russian Armed Forces previously concentrated along the border. The invasion followed by targeted airstrikes of military buildings in the country, as well as tanks entering via the Belarus border.
Russia has so far not recognized the invasion of Ukraine as a “war”, although that is exactly what it is, claiming that it is a “special military operation”. According to the UN, in which Russia has its permanent representation, for military action to be defined as a “special military operation”, it must have a resolution issued by the UN. There is no such resolution, which automatically defines the military actions of the Russians as an invasion and war against the citizens of Ukraine.
