MOSCOW ($1=71.05 Russian Rubles) — Refurbished Russian tanks returned from Ukraine will receive new diesel engines. The Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant is a part of the largest tank manufacturer in Russia, UralVagonZavod [UVZ]. The plant has fulfilled a state order and delivered ordered diesel engines for the needs of the Russian tank divisions.

One part of the diesel engines are intended for new tanks and self-propelled howitzers. The information was officially announced through a press release from UVZ.
The governor of the Chelyabinsk region has supported the plant by helping to overcome some administrative procedures. Mr. Igor Meshkov, Director of Special Tasks at UVZ, expressed his gratitude for the competent behavior of the Chelyabinsk Governor.
Mobile repair teams
BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that in the middle of the year, the Russian Federation decided to use mobile repair teams in Ukraine to repair the damaged Russian tanks. However, it turned out that one part of the teams refused to go to Ukraine, and the others who were already there said that it was impossible to carry out repairs in such conditions.
The mobile groups had to repair not only the systems of damaged Russian weapon systems but also their engines. Russia subsequently canceled the operation of the repair teams in the field and sent them back to Russia. Later, Moscow announced that it was expanding the Russian Federation’s production and repair facilities in all industries related to the arms industry.
Apparently, this program also affected the Chelyabinsk tractor plant. The company says that a technical overhaul has begun at the plant. The company also says that the company has an established program for launching new equipment. Also, renovation and repair of the existing equipment in the machinery park are currently being carried out.
The Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant is the largest producer of diesel engines for Russian armored vehicles, including the T-72 and T-90 tanks. The plant also develops the diesel engine for the newest Russian T-14 Armata tank. the combat tank support vehicle [BMPT] Terminator, self-propelled artillery units Akacia, Msta-S, etc. are also powered by engines produced at this plant.
New delivery of T-90M
The delivery of the new engines for the Russian tanks coincides with the delivery of a new batch of T-90M Proryv tanks announced the day before. The tanks have already been delivered to the Central Military District of the Russian Federation. The Ministry of Defense reports that tankers have already begun tests and exercises with live firing to assess whether UralVagonZavod has complied with the requirements, according to the order.
It is not clear from the press release of UralVagonZavod, nor from that of the Ministry of Defense of Russia, what quantity was delivered.
The Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant produces several modifications of the diesel engine for various variants of the T-90 tank. All are 12-cylinder and provide power from 840 to 1,000 horsepower. The T-90, T-90A, T-90Я, T-90М, and T-90МС tanks are powered by engines produced here.
