MOSCOW ($1=69.00 Russian Rubles) — Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mrs. Maria Zakharova said Greece’s plans to supply Ukraine with Russian S-300 air defense systems were “provocative” and “hostile”.

- Barter is possible in the Balkans – S-300 in exchange for Patriot

Zakharova made a written statement regarding the claims in the Greek media that “Greece is ready to hand over the Russian S-300 air defense systems to Ukraine.”
Saying that the Greek administration had made similar statements recently, Zakharova said: “We consider the provocative plans [of the Greek administration] to send the S-300 and other Russian and Soviet air defense systems to the Kyiv regime hostile” uses the phrases.
‘We are warning the Greek administration’
“Greece will be an accomplice to Ukraine by sending weapons to conflict zones and violating the agreements it made with Russia in the field of military equipment in 1995 and 2013,” she said.
Mrs. Maria Zakharova also said that these agreements “prohibit Greece from transferring military equipment we have purchased to a third country without Russia’s consent.” Violation of the obligations under the agreement will have inevitable consequences, weakening Greece’s defense capability.
“This shows that the Greek side is indifferent to international restrictions on the arms trade. All military equipment sent to Kyiv will be tracked down and destroyed by Russian forces promptly. Dangerous plans can be abandoned before it is too late. We warn the Greek administration that it must bear responsibility,” also Mrs. Zakharova said.
Greek media reports suggest that “Greece will send Russian-purchased S-300 air defense systems to Ukraine if the US deploys the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system on the island of Crete.”
