Most likely, this is one part of the promised military aid to Ukraine of 39 vehicles. Ottawa guaranteed Kyiv military aid for $500 million. The 39 LAV 6.0s are part of this finance package. Canada signed the $500 million deal in June of this year in Madrid.

Military experts say that the Ukrainian armed forces will use this military equipment on the front lines against the Russians. Since the start of the war on February 24th, Canada has been active in its communication with Ukraine and donations to the Ukrainian military. More significant Canadian donations include the supply of M777 towed howitzers and 20,000 artillery shells. One part of these projectiles is 155mm highly accurate and effective Excalibur projectiles.

The main armament can be configured in two variations – one M242 Bushmaster [210rnds] or 1 x RWS C6 GPMG [2,200rnds]. However, it depends a lot on the functional purpose of the vehicle and the missions in which it will participate. The LAV 6.0 has secondary armament as well – the C6 GPMG 7.62 mm general-purpose machine gun.

The combat vehicle is powered by a single Caterpillar C9 Turbo-charged six-cylinder Diesel engine. It provides the LAV 6.0 with at least 450 horsepower. The suspension is independent hydropneumatic. The maximum speed on roads is 100 km/h, while off-road is 40 km/h. With one full tank of fuel, the LAV 6.0 travels 600 km.
