MADRID ($1=0.96 Euros) — The United Kingdom will almost double its military support for Ukraine by an additional £ 1 billion [more than $ 1.2 billion]. This was announced by Bloomberg with reference to the British government.

New aid is needed to help Ukraine’s armed forces move from defense to intensified offensive operations against Russian occupation forces, Bloomberg said. The Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson is reported to announce a new package of military support at the NATO summit in Madrid today [Thursday, June 30th].
The funds will be used to increase Ukraine’s defense capabilities, including air defense systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, electronic warfare equipment, and thousands of units of “vital equipment” for the Ukrainian military.
This has increased Britain’s total military support since the start of the full-scale war to 2.3 billion pounds [$ 2.8 billion], which the British government says is more than aid from any country other than the United States.
The British Prime Minister’s Office stressed that additional weapons and equipment are the first steps that will allow Ukraine to launch a counter-offensive. We recall that earlier the United Kingdom announced a new training program for the Ukrainian military. Military support is in addition to the £ 1.5 billion in humanitarian and economic support provided to Ukraine since February.
The United Kingdom and Norway are also cooperating to provide Ukraine with long-range jet artillery [MLRS]. We are talking about numerous missile systems [MLRS] M270. Earlier, Britain bought and repaired more than 20 Belgian M109 self-propelled artillery howitzers.
In addition, HUSKY Tactical Support armored vehicles from Great Britain began to arrive in Ukraine.
