PARIS ($1=0.95 Euros) — At the Eurosatory 2022 defense exhibition in Paris, Lockheed Martin spoke about the roadmap for the Javelin anti-tank system.

In an interview with the representative[s] of the Janes organization, representatives of the aforementioned organization confirmed that the production of missiles has completely switched to a variant designated FGM-148F, which was developed as part of the Spiral 2 missile improvement program. All new and existing customers will now receive this version of the missile.
Produced by Javelin Joint Venture [JJV], which includes Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Missiles & Defense, the system entered service with the US in 1996 and has since received several upgrades. New upgrades are planned to be put into operation in the next few years.
Model F is the result of work on the improvement of the FGM-148E [Spiral 1] missile, which was introduced in 2006 and finally improved in 2017, replacing the analog control and actuation system of the missile with a single digital board. A new multi-purpose warhead was introduced into the design of the F variant to provide increased lethality against lightly armored targets and personnel.
Javelin AAWS-M is an American portable anti-tank missile system. It was designed in 1989, and in 1996 it was officially put into operation in the US Army. Javelin AAWS-M has a rich military history – the system’s participation in the war in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq, the Civil War in Syria, the Second Civil War in Libya, and this year in the Ukrainian-Russian war has been documented.
Javelin AAWS-M has seven variants and to date, a total of 45,000 missiles have been produced. The weight of the system is 22.3 kg [49 lb], ready to fire, 6.4 kg [14 lb], detachable CLU and 15.9 kg [35 lb], missile in launch tube. Javelin AAWS-M launches a 127mm caliber missile. The operational effective range of the anti-tank missile is between 2,500 meters and 4,750 meters. Each missile is equipped with a tandem-charge HEAT warhead, which is triggered by a contact fuze detonating mechanism.
The rocket is powered by a solid-fuel motor, can fly at altitudes up to 150 meters, has an integrated infrared homing guidance system, and for precise guidance, the manufacturer offers integrated optical sight & thermal imaging.
