WARSAW ($1=4.32 Polish Zlotys) — A video posted on the social network Telegram recorded the entry of big transport trucks carrying recently delivered to the United States howitzers M777. However, those recorded in the video are one of the latest modifications: M777A2 with communication and GPS equipment, updated Block 1 software and added Enhanced Portable Inductive Artillery Fuze Setter [EPIAFS]. EPIAFS allows the M777A2 to launch the M982 Excalibur 155 mm extended range guided artillery shell.

Earlier today, BulgarianMilitary.com reported that the Canadian government decided on May 24 to send 20,000,155mm artillery shells that are compatible with 155mm M777A2 towed howitzers transported from Poland to Ukraine. Some of the 155mm artillery shells may include an indefinite amount of Excalibur.
Scott Ritter also says that these shells are of the “one shot, one kill” type, most likely referring to the expression “fire-and-forget”. BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that according to comprehensive foreign reports, nearly two years ago [at the end of December 2020] the US Army successfully tested the M982A1 Excalibur artillery shells with a new prototype of the XM1299 self-propelled gun, which is still under development, hitting a 70-kilometer target.
