LONDON, ($1=0.77 British Pounds) — In early April, the United Kingdom delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces a Mastiff mine-resistant ambush-protected and infantry mobility vehicle [MRAP] and a Jackal or MWMIK [Mobility Weapon-Mounted Installation Kit]. The information was published in the Army Reconnaissance and the Belgian online edition claims that the delivery has already been made.

The two military vehicles are part of the military equipment and weapons systems that London has already delivered to Kyiv. The UK delivered 4,000 NLAW man-portable anti-tank guided missile weapons and Javelin anti-tank missile systems to Ukraine in March, StarStreak MANPADS man-portable air defense missile systems.
In early April, the UK approved a new aid of € 120 million including 800 NLAW and Javelin anti-tank guided missiles, loitering ammunition, helmets, night vision equipment, and body armor, CVRT tracked reconnaissance armored vehicles including FV104 Samaritan ambulance version, FV106 Samson armored recovery vehicle, FV107 Scimitar with 30mm cannon, FV103 Spartan APC, as well as Stormer StarStreak mobile air defense tracked armored vehicles.

Mastiff MRAP has been part of the British Army for a long time. According to unconfirmed information for the last 15 years, this combat vehicle has participated in dozens of military operations around the world, where the British army was present. It is estimated that approximately 700 units were produced by this vehicle.
Mastiff MRAP 6×6 is fully equipped and suitable for patrol activities or for providing a convoy. In addition to the commander and driver of the vehicle, the Mastiff MRAP can carry up to eight soldiers. This vehicle is currently being developed in its third variation.
Mastiff MRAP is armed with two machine guns: a 7.62mm general-purpose machine gun, a 12.7mm heavy machine gun, and a 40mm automatic grenade launcher. Mastiff MRAP has an additional bumper in the form of a “cage” mounted outside the standard level of the car. The vehicle is equipped with Bowman radios and electronic countermeasures.

Jackal or MWMIK [Mobility Weapon-Mounted Installation Kit] was purchased years ago by the British Ministry of Defense to meet the specific needs of the British military and special forces in the conditions offered by Afghanistan. Jackal is a highly mobile and well-armed combat vehicle. It is often used to patrol or secure a convoy.
Jackal uses Universal Engineering chassis, Cummins engine, Allison transmission, and suspension shock absorbers from Fox Racing Shox. Jackal is based on a 400 highly mobile 4 × 4 design. The electronics in the vehicle are from Fujitsu and Smartgauge Electronics. Off-road, this combat vehicle reaches a top speed of 79 km / h, while on the road the speed reaches 130 km / h.
Jackal can be equipped with a set of weapons, such as a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun, a 7.62 mm general-purpose machine gun [GPMG], and a 40 mm automatic grenade launcher.
