WASHINGTON – Washington is ready to help Georgia strengthen its defense, said US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, learned BulgarianMilitary.com. “The United States is committed to helping Georgia strengthen its defense capabilities and improve its Euro-Atlantic integration,” Austin said on Twitter. He noted that he looks forward to the meetings planned in Georgia.

Earlier, the Pentagon said Austin would travel to Europe this weekend. In Georgia, he will meet with Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Defense Minister Huansher Burchuladze, and in Ukraine with President Vladimir Zelensky and Defense Minister Andrei Taran.
It is also reported that during his visit to Georgia and Ukraine, the US Secretary of Defense will call on these countries to make the necessary transformations to qualify for NATO membership.
“Austin in Georgia and Ukraine will emphasize that the door to NATO is open and will call on those countries to make the necessary changes to qualify for membership in the Defense Alliance,” the statement said on a website by the US Department of Defense.
After Ukraine and Georgia, Austin will visit Romania and Belgium. In Brussels, the Pentagon chief will meet with NATO defense ministers. According to the Pentagon, this meeting is expected to discuss Russia, as well as the problems of China.
In Romania, the US Secretary of Defense will meet with President Klaus Johannes and Defense Minister Nicolae Chuca.
Georgia will produce multifunctional unmanned helicopters
The Georgian military scientific and technical center Delta is preparing to produce multifunctional unmanned helicopters that can be used both for reconnaissance and during offensive operations, as well as for civilian needs.
According sources, the helicopter will be armed with anti-tank missiles and will fly at the lowest possible altitude to a distance of 150 kilometers. The Minister of Defense of the country Irakli Garibashvili was acquainted with the preparations for the release.
Delta is already successfully producing and selling armored vehicles of various modifications abroad, in particular to Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
