MOSCOW, ($1= 73.85 Russian Rubles) – A large-scale modernization of weapons equipment and the purchase of new ones begins in the Russian armed forces after on August 24 the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation signed new contracts with Russian manufacturers worth a total of 7.6 billion USD [500 billion Russian rubles], learned BulgarianMilitary.com quoting Interfax.

“Today, four state contracts were awarded and 41 state contracts were signed with 27 enterprises from the military-industrial complex worth over 500 billion rubles,” Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said at an event held at the Army-2021 military-technical forum.
Krivoruchko added that the contracts include the purchase and armament of the army with new weapons [about 1,300 new models, according to the deputy minister], as well as the repair and modernization of at least 150 weapons systems, military, and specialized equipment.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian military under new contracts, in particular, begin to buy a hypersonic missile “Zircon”, will receive a batch of cruise missiles “Kalibr”, missiles for hypersonic aircraft complex “Dagger” [Kinzhal – ed.], a batch of attacking drones, and reconnaissance ships.
According to the signed contract, the Tu-95MS bombers, capable of carrying nuclear weapons, will be modernized. This is the first contract for a deep modernization of the Tu-95MS strategic bombers until the appearance of the Tu-95MSM.
So far there is no information on whether the signed new contracts include the purchase of the new Russian stealth fighter Su-75, which was presented at MAX 2021 only a month ago. The probability that this fighter will be part of the deal is small because as we announced earlier, the Su-75 is starting stages of testing and is expected to be completed in the next 18 months. The Su-75 could become part of Russian aviation in the coming years.
Russia is due to receive six Su-57 fighters this year, but rumors among Russian Kremlin officials say that will not happen. Most likely, the Russian Federation will arm itself with an additional three units of this fighter, and the reason for this, according to sources, is problems with the financing of the project. We remind you that there is interest in the Russian fighter from African and Asian countries, but in reality, none of them has so far made an inquiry and taken the first steps towards its purchase.
We remind you that Russia is currently building several new nuclear submarines, which should increase the power of the Russian fleet. Of particular interest is the development of Belgorod-class submarines that are to carry the Poseidon nuclear torpedo. Most recently, the Russian Federation launched a new submarine class Yassen-M – Krasnoyarsk.
