TEL AVIV, (BM) – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes against Hezbollah observation posts near the Lebanese border in response to the shooting, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing the Israeli Defense Ministry’s press service statement on Twitter.
“During the operation in northern Israel last night, fire was opened on Israeli forces from Lebanon. We returned fire, and our aircraft hit Hezbollah observation posts near the border,” the statement said.
Earlier, the representative of the Israel Defense Forces, Avishai Andraye, reported an incident on the border with Lebanon, where a passage made in barbed wire was found. Al-Hadath TV channel, in turn, informed that Israeli Air Force fighters appeared in the sky over the border areas of Lebanon.
On Tuesday evening, the Israeli military combed the border area near the Israeli village of Manara to determine if an armed group Hezbollah had penetrated from Lebanese territory. Israeli artillery also fired flares over the Lebanese townships of Houla and Mays al-Jebel
The army command announced a partial alarm and blocked the roads in the north of Galilee, residents were advised not to leave their homes. According to Al-Hadath, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew to the headquarters of the northern military district to personally oversee the operation.
