PANAGYURISHTE, (BM) – The Fostech Origin 12 shotgun looks like a real blaster of the future. Origin 12 is a 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun. The shotgun is powerful and reliable. This is not surprising, because it is based on the platform of the Kalashnikov assault rifle.
More precisely, it is based on the development of the smooth-bore Saiga 12, although it is not very similar to it. Origin-12 is also easy to disassemble and very easy and quick to clean thanks to the use of modern materials with anti-corrosion coating.
Origin 12 uses the familiar long-stroke piston system, which significantly increased the resource of the weapon. Unlike the Soviet AK and Saiga, the new Fostech Origin12 has many times greater ergonomics and modularity.
In particular, the butt line is deliberately inflated to be in line with the bolt group. This reduces recoil and barrel toss. The not very convenient safety catch has been replaced with a selector like in the M-4 and M-16 rifles. Moreover, it is duplicated on both sides.
The cartridge case ejection window is now separate from the shutter lever. The cocking handle has been moved forward, like the German G-3 and MP-5.
Interesting innovations also affected the receiver cover. It is not removable, but leans back on a hinge, and, unlike the AKS-74U, where such a system is used, in the Origin12 the hinge attachment point is at the back, not in front.
Moreover, a Picatinny rail is installed on the cover and forend, which forms a single line and allows you to mount a removable rear sight and front sight on them, as well as collimator sights and other body kit.
There are the same strips on the sides and bottom. Origin 12 is available in two versions – with a short barrel, which is better used with a silencer, and with a long barrel, which allows better control of the weapon.
The shotgun performs well with both a standard 12-gauge cartridge and a reinforced Magnum. Regular stores for 5 and 10 ammunition fit it, as well as increased ones for 20 and 30 places.
