AMMAN, (BM) – Jordan will choose conflict instead of peace if Israel implements a plan to exercise sovereignty over parts of the West Bank, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
The corresponding statement after the meeting with the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Jordan Ayman Safadi.
The parties agreed to strengthen coordination and joint efforts to thwart the Israeli plan. Safari warned that the spread of sovereignty would affect Israeli-Jordanian relations and “destroy the decision to create two states.”
“If Israel annexes it, it will choose escalation and conflict instead of peace,” said the head of the Jordanian foreign affairs agency.
Abbas, in turn, noted that he would not control any “uprising” of the Palestinians in response to the spread of Israeli sovereignty.
“The Palestinian people will choose what they want,” he said.
Safadi was the first high-ranking official to visit Ramallah since the start of the pandemic of the deadly Chinese coronavirus COVID-19.
