MOSCOW, (BM) – The frigate Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov of project 22350 completed state tests and returned to the Severnaya Verf in St. Petersburg for revision. This was reported in the press service of the enterprise where the frigates of this project are being built, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.

“The first serial frigate Admiral of the Navy Kasatonov of project 22350, having completed the marine part of state tests, returned to the Severnaya Verf. During June, the ship will undergo an audit, after which it will be transferred to the Navy,” the report says.

According to the press service, during the final tests in the Baltic Sea, all design characteristics of the ship, the operation of systems and weapons were tested, interaction with submarines and aircraft was worked out, rescue and evacuation exercises were conducted.

Igor Ponomarev, general director of the Severnaya Verf shipyard (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation), said: “We reached the finish line and are approaching the main event for the ship – raising the St. Andrew’s flag. For ten months, the ship passed the test phases in two fleets – the Northern and Baltic , worked in different weather conditions and sea disturbances. The commissioning team, together with the crew, fleet support services, carried out a thorough check of the frigate, and now we can confidently say that Kasatonov is a modern powerful ship of the far sea zone that will strengthen the domestic fleet “

At the Severnaya Verf shipyard, Kasatonov will undergo an audit within a month. During the audit, shipbuilders will perform maintenance of the mechanisms, the main power plant, devices and special items, restore the insulation and paint coatings of the hull, open parts and internal premises, and work out the comments of the crew. After the audit is completed, the frigate will carry out a control exit and after signing the acceptance act by the state commission, it will be ready for transfer to the fleet.

The frigate Admiral of the Fleet Kasatonov will be part of the Northern Fleet in the same way as its predecessor, the lead ship of the frigate “Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Gorshkov” project.

For the Northern Fleet, the second production frigate, Admiral Golovko, is launched, launched in May. Now the “admiral” series consists of six frigates. In addition to these three, the Northern Shipyard is building the frigates Admiral of the Fleet of the Soviet Union Isakov, Admiral Amelko and Admiral Chichagov.
