TEL AVIV, (BM) – Testing short-range ballistic missiles successfully passed in Israel, June 2, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing the Israeli news agency The Times of Israel.

Launches of ballistic missiles of the LORA system on naval targets at a distance of 70 and 400 kilometers passed in Israel. The representative of the arms manufacturer Israel Aerospace Industries Systems, Missiles & Space Group (MALAM) said: “In both scenarios, the missile was launched along the trajectory, plotted toward the target and hit it with maximum accuracy.”

For security reasons, both the rocket launcher and the targets were located at sea. Missile launch was initiated remotely.

The first test of the LORA missile system was made in 2017. The producer emphasized that the development and testing of the rocket took place in the context of the restrictions imposed by the spread of coronavirus infection.

Recall, MALAM is a manufacturer of air defense systems Arrow 2 and 3 and Barak 8.

BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that on January last year Israel has performed a limited test of its Arrow-3 ballistic missile defence system over the Mediterranean. Then, the test was part of the preparations for the full-scale intercept test of the Israeli Arrow-3 ballistic missiles interceptor, planned to be performed in Alaska.

Once the target was launched, from an Israeli air force fighter aircraft Arrow Weapon System radars detected it and transferred the data to the battle management control (BMC) which then established a defense plan.

At the right moment, the Arrow-3 interceptor was launched toward the target and successfully completed its mission.

Recall that on February 02 Israel conducted another intercontinental ballistic missile test and according sources Israeli units completely were forgot about safety measures. They [sources] said that exactly that launch took place from the area of ​​the Israeli city of Palmahim, which is located just 400 kilometers from the Khmeimim air base and the Russian S-400 radars successfully detected and intercepted the Israeli missile.
