Iran Shura Council endorses anti-Israel law
On Monday the Iranian Shura Council approved a draft law aimed at confronting Israeli hostile practices against regional and international security.
Article one of the bill stipulates to employ all national, regional and international capacities to confront the hostile actions practiced by “the Zionist entity” against the oppressed Palestinian people, Islamic countries and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as Tel Aviv’s destructive role in undermining peace and security on regional and international levels and its systematic violations of human rights, including war crimes, terrorism, electronic warfare, the use of heavy and prohibited weapons against civilians and the displacement of the Palestinian people.
The article also specifies countering Israel’s attempts to annex more land in the occupied Palestinian territories, Syria and Lebanon.
Article two of the bill obliges the Iranian Foreign Ministry to prepare a plan within six months for the establishment of a virtual embassy or consulate for Iran in the occupied city of Jerusalem in Palestine.
Libya pro-government army destroys Haftar air defence system
The army of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA) yesterday announced that it had destroyed a Russian made air defence system deployed by forces linked to Brigadier General Khalifa Haftar in the Al-Watiya base, southwest of the capital Tripoli.
Army spokesman Muhammed Kununu explained in a statement that a drone strike destroyed the Russian-made Pantsir type air defence system and Chinese-made Wing Loong II type armed drone which were supplied by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Haftar.
On Friday, Kununu said the Air Force had targeted a military vehicle carrying a number of militiamen linked to Haftar who had been on their way to support the “terrorist militias” in their aggression against Tripoli.
2 killed trying to storm Sudan checkpoint
The Sudanese army yesterday said its forces shot a vehicle that had crossed a security checkpoint in the country’s capital Khartoum, leaving two people dead.
“A speeding motorised rickshaw drove through a military checkpoint in Khartoum without stopping… at 9:00pm,” the military’s spokesperson, Amer Muhammad Al-Hassan, said in a statement.
Al-Hassan added that a soldier had opened fire at the two men, injuring them, after “they ignored instructions to stop.”
He pointed out that the victims were taken to hospital, where they died.
