NEW DELHI, BEIJING, (BM) – A massive brawl between the Indian and Chinese soldiers took place on the border of Sikkim (India) and the Tibet Autonomous Region (China), learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing the Hindustan Times report on May 10.
The incident occurred on May 9 at a mountain pass at an altitude of about 5 thousand meters.
“Four Indian soldiers and seven Chinese soldiers were injured during the confrontation, which involved about 150 soldiers,” one of the Indian officers said on condition of anonymity.
According to the source, the conflict was resolved at the local level.
Recall that the territorial dispute between India and China escalated in 2017, when the Chinese side began construction of a road on its territory adjacent to the state of Sikkim.
India accused China of violating the status quo in the region. The Indian military then invaded the territory of China and tried to prevent the construction of the road.
In August 2017, a fight broke out between dozens of military personnel on both sides of the Sangkim Lake Pangon area. Its participants used stones and iron rods during the collision. The parties exchanged mutual accusations.
