Raytheon and Northrop Grumman announced a joint effort on Monday. Corporations are counting on fruitful cooperation, especially since each of them has vast experience in the field of missile defense.

Recall, April 24, the Pentagon officially published a request for proposals for a new competition, which received the designation Next-Generation Interceptor (NGI). The US Missile Defense Agency has requested $ 664 million for fiscal year 2021 through the program. During the five-year period, they plan to allocate 4.9 billion.

As a result, the Pentagon expects to receive a new kinetic interceptor, which will act as a warhead of the anti-missile complex Ground-based Midcourse Defense.
