So, the missile cruiser “Marshal Ustinov” left the main base of the Northern Fleet of Severomorsk.
Shooting will be carried out in the framework of naval exercises “on air defense and the conduct of battle with the ships of a conditional enemy.”
In addition, on the eve of the Northern Fleet began to monitor the NATO naval strike group that entered the waters of the Barents Sea. The NATO group included the American destroyers Donald Cook, Porter, Franklin Roosevelt and the British frigate HMS Kent.
As we reported earlier today for the first time since the mid-80s, under the supervision of the Russian fleet, four American and one British ship entered the Barents Sea, which indicates a growing intensity of the confrontation between the great powers in the Arctic.
According to the Washington Times, the purpose of this operation was to send a signal to Moscow, as well as to check the readiness of the Navy for action in any weather conditions.

Apparently, reporters from the American newspaper were right when Russia recognized the signal sent by NATO ships today and decided to conduct a live firing exercise in the Barents Sea.
