MOSCOW, (BM) – The Russian land forces will receive 120 updated T-72B3M tanks by the end of the year, learned BulgarianMilitary.com citing the the Defense Ministry statement on May 2.
According to the report, the vehicles handed over by the manufacturers to the Ministry of Defense within the framework of the State Defense Order have enhanced combat and navigational characteristics.
Recall that the main battle tank T-72B3M is a deep modernization of the T-72. So, the tank has an updated engine capacity of 1130 liters. pp., enhanced protection of the tower, bottom and sides. Also installed fire control systems operating at any time of the day, digital communications and other systems.
BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that on May 1 a shot from an anti-tank missile system destroyed the latest Russian Armata tank in Syria.
According to the Russian Reporter news agency, the latest Russian tank, which has not even been adopted by the Russian army, was destroyed by militants during the counteroffensive.
The Russian information publication, citing data from the eastern media, cites information that five T-14 Armata tanks, which actually took part in the offensive operation together with the Syrian military, were actually transferred to Syrian territory.
However, as a result of an unexpected attack by terrorists on the border of the Syrian province of Latakia, at least one tank was destroyed and two more were damaged.
