SOFIA, (BM) – Bulgarian military company EMCO accused the Bulgarian Economy Minister Emil Karanikolov of trying to ruin the company’s “another deal” and redirect it to circles of companies close to the government, learned BulgarianMilitary.com according EMCO statement.
“A plan is underway for the Minister of Economy and a group of related parties to re-steal an existing export contract of our products for NATO markets and to transfer this deal to companies in one known environment. The Minister himself for more than a month suspends the issuance of an export license, although all export rules are fulfilled, documentation is in order and transport trucks are waiting in front of the EMCO warehouses” the EMCO’statement said.
The Bulgarian company says they are ready to protest again in front of the Council of Ministers as soon as the state of emergency because of the coronavirus in Bulgaria has expired.
According EMCO only the President Rumen Radev has responded to the demands of the company “by which he demonstrates the behavior of a true statesman”.
The company also recalled an identical situation in the distant 2017, when the “same Minister of Economy” made another attempt to steal an enforced contract from the EMCO, which led to significant damage, including for the state, as well as mass protests by workers in factories in various areas of the country as well as in front of the Council of Ministers’ building
“Criminal liability has not yet been sought for these actions, neither for the Minister nor by other responsible officials involved in the series of offenses at that time” the message said.
Then (2017 – auth.) a member of the protest’s organizing committee, Mrs. Dimitrina Markova, told Mediapool that the “attacks on Dunarit and Emko were coordinated and started at the moment when the Supreme Administrative Court allowed Dunarit’s capital increase by BGN 60 million from EMCO, which would allow repayment of debt to Bulgaria’s Corpbank” (the fourth largest bank then in the country, which was declared bankrupt, for unknown reasons – auth.)
According to her, it is not clear who is “the master puppeteer” of the attack against the two private companies, but the executors are Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, Economy Minister Emir Karanikolov and Prosecutor General Sotir Tsatsarov.
Thus, after 2017, the EMCO’s employees are again facing mass protests caused by almost identical actions of the government, but at different periods of time.
“These coincidences and reprisals against the EMCO are not accidental and it is strange the inaction of Prime Minister Borisov, as well as of the judiciary and law enforcement authorities, who should be aware of the cases in question and the reasons for the outbreak of another tension” also statement said.
As we try to give transparency and publicity to all parties to the current case, BulgarianMilitary.com asks the Minister of Economy:
What are his true motives for not issuing an export permit to the Bulgarian company EMCO so far?
If emco has not fulfilled one (or more) of the requirements for issuing an export license – what is it?
