MOSCOW, (BM) – The combat readiness of the on-duty forces and air defense equipment, which serve in the Moscow Region, was tested during a control training, learned BulgarianMilitary.com according the RF Ministry of Defense statement on Sunday.

“In total, during the audit, the involved air defense units, including combat calculations of command and control posts, radar stations and anti-aircraft missile defense assets, detected and intercepted more than 50 air targets,” the Interfax report said.

It is noted that “the air defense combat crews completed the tasks, conditionally destroying all the control targets at the far borders in the affected area.”

“The day before, during the training of the air defense forces on duty, the air defense unit worked out a march of equipment from a deployment point and intervened on combat duty in a new position area. When marching, a column of anti-aircraft missile systems (air defense systems) S-400 was covered by anti-aircraft missile and gun systems Pantsir-S”, informs the military department.

According to him, “the combat calculations of anti-aircraft missile and radioengineering forces worked out the detection, tracking and conditional destruction of control targets that simulate the flight of airborne attack assets of a conditional enemy.”

Commander of the Air Defense and Missile Defense Forces – Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces, Lieutenant General Yuri Grekhov notes that “during combat training, special attention is paid to the organization of the fight not only against modern inconspicuous aircraft, but also against aviation and ground-based weapons, such as like shells of multiple launch rocket systems. “

“In addition, the role of fighting unmanned aerial vehicles is currently growing. These issues are being worked out during special training exercises and tactical exercises with live firing at the training grounds of the Aerospace Forces,” said Grekhov, quoted by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

According to the military leader, his subordinates “managed to achieve such a level of training of personnel and equipping with modern equipment that allows them to successfully carry out the tasks of combat duty in air defense and to cover important objects from air attacks.”

On April 12, the Day of the Air Defense Forces is celebrated in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The main task of the formations and military units of the air defense is to cover top-level objects of state and military command, industry and energy, the groups of the Armed forces of Russia and transport communications from the airspace attack of the enemy,” a military department press release said.

Earlier it was reported that the air defense forces are equipped with highly efficient weapons, in particular, the S-400 Triumph and S-350 Vityaz air defense systems, the latest S-500 Prometey system is approaching (all three are produced by the Almaz – Antey), which will become the basis of a single national system of air defense and missile defense.
