ANKARA, (BM) – The Turkish defense giant Aselsan, despite the economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, continued to grow in the first months of 2020 and received new orders worth more than $ 320 million, learned BulgarianMilitary.com according Anadolu report.
The country’s leading defense contractor continued its upward trend from January to March this year, “without losing momentum,” said head Haluk Gorgun.
It must be said that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan praised Gurgun for his efforts to nationalize and localize since the beginning of the 2000s. The head of Aselsan said that more than 5 thousand suppliers of the company are currently domestic producers, whose products have reached a high level.
Aselsan plans to deepen its research and development and diversify products, said Gorgun, adding that “possible supply problems in the near future” will not affect production.
Recall that the Turkish defense giant took 52nd place in the list of Defense News in 2019 among the 100 largest defense companies in the world.
