More than 3,700 coronavirus tests conducted in Russian army
More than 3,700 Russian military personnel have been tested for coronavirus with all results coming back negative, says the bulletin on sanitary and epidemiological situation in Russia’s armed forces published on Monday in Krasnaya Zvezda newspaper.
“The Russian Armed Forces conducted 3,756 tests of personnel for coronavirus, all results are negative and no infections were identified,” the bulletin reads. The document also noted that 32 hospitals set up special wards for 4,800 beds, while medical facilities prepared 2,782 ventilators.
Moreover, the bulletin notes, “1,647 special units were formed to disinfect territories. Nine operative groups are monitoring sanitary and epidemiological situation.”
According to the military agency, 15 modern multi-faceted module complexes to detect infecting agent of coronavirus and more than 5,500 stationary temperature checking checkpoints were deployed.
The US coalition in Iraq left another military base
The United States continues to relocate its forces in Iraq. US troops handed over to the Iraqi army the K-1 air base in the Kirkuk area. This was reported by the command of the US international coalition to combat the “Islamic State”.

North Macedonia officially joins NATO
The North Atlantic Alliance has replenished with another member. On March 27, North Macedonia officially became the 30th NATO member country. This was reported by the US State Department.
The U.S. State Department issued a written statement by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stating that the U.S. has received a document on North Macedonia’s accession to NATO. The official flag-raising ceremony for the new alliance member at NATO headquarters in Brussels will be held March 30 this year.
“On March 27, 2020, the United States, as the depository of the treaty, received a document on the accession of the Republic of Northern Macedonia to the North Atlantic Treaty, which made Northern Macedonia the 30th NATO ally. On March 30, the flag of Northern Macedonia for the first time flies above NATO headquarters” declared Pompeo.
