TEL AVIV, (BM) – Palestinian radicals from the Gaza Strip fired rockets through Israeli territory on Friday evening. This was reported by the army press service, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
“One rocket was fired from Gaza across Israeli territory,” the military said in a statement. Earlier on Friday, the army press service informed that air-raid sirens sounded in the area of the city of Sderot, located in close proximity to the Palestinian coastal enclave.
Later, Palestinian media reports said IDF warplanes had hit several targets in the Strip in response to the fire. There was no immediate confirmation from the army.
During the previous round of exchange of attacks between Palestinian radicals and the Israeli military on February 23 and 24, 80 rockets from the Gaza Strip were fired into the Jewish state, 70 of them intercepted.
In response, the Israeli Air Force then attacked the military targets of the Islamic Jihad group south of Damascus in Syria, as well as dozens of objects of this group throughout the Gaza Strip.
