MOSCOW, (BM) – Anti-aircraft missile defense systems of the Eastern Military District conducted live firing at the Telemba training ground in Buryatia to repel a massive air strike of a conditional enemy, said Alexander Gordeev, chief of the BBO press service, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
“During combat firing, the S-300 air defense missile systems, the Tor air defense missile systems, the Pantsir, Buk, Osa-AK air defense systems successfully hit targets that in their geometric, ballistic and radar characteristics imitated small-sized fast-flying air targets of a conventional enemy”– said Gordeev.
According to him, to destroy the invisible cruise missiles of the “enemy” anti-aircraft missile systems completed more than a dozen combat launches.
The exercises are held under the leadership of the commander of the Eastern Military District, Lieutenant General Gennady Zhidko, said Gordeev.
He explained that the firing was carried out as part of a field exit of the air defense forces of the Eastern Military District, which takes place at once at nine large training ranges – in Buryatia, Sakhalin and Amur regions, Khabarovsk, Primorsky, Kamchatka territories and on the islands of the Kuril ridge.
It involves more than 4 thousand people and about 700 units of military and special equipment.
