Earlier data showing that Pentagon chief Mark Esper and his deputy were infected with COVID-19 virus. This information was refuted by the U.S. Department of Defense.
However, representatives of the U.S. DoD have not yet commented on data on the infection of 47 Pentagon employees with coronavirus.
BulgarianMilitary.com has learned that the work of the US military has been very seriously reduced. A lot of the visits and meetings planned earlier were not only rescheduled, but canceled altogether, which indicates the seriousness of the situation.
Moreover, given the evacuation of the US military from Iraq and neighboring Syria, experts believe that in the near future a similar situation will be observed in other regions of the planet where there is a risk of coronavirus infection, including, we can talk about curtailing the largest US military bases in the Middle East.
BulgarianMilitary.com reported yesterday the acute situation with the spread of coronavirus infection in Iraq and eastern Syria forced the US military command to take emergency measures and begin the evacuation of military personnel from bases in western Iraq.

At the moment, it is known that the US military was evacuated from such military bases and facilities as K1 and Nineveh, however, it is reported that American helicopters are moving throughout Iraq and part of Syria.
The evacuation of the US military is also carried out from part of observation posts and military bases in the east and northeast of Syria, while it is reported that the US military exported by helicopters are consolidating at larger military facilities in Iraq, from where it is likely In the near future, the evacuation of military personnel and personnel on airplanes will begin.
At the same time BulgarianMilitary.com has learned that the U.S. Department of Defense will allocate up to 5 million respirators from its strategic reserve as part of measures to combat the spread of coronavirus.
This was announced on Tuesday at a briefing by the Pentagon chief Marx Esper.
“The Ministry of Defense will provide the Ministry of Health and Social Services with up to 5 million <…> respirators and other personal protective equipment from our own strategic reserves,” he said. “The first million respirators will be available immediately,” the minister said.
In addition to this, the Pentagon will allocate up to 2 thousand mechanical ventilation devices, as well as provide access to its laboratories so that they can conduct coronavirus tests for civilians. The Pentagon chief emphasized that fourteen such laboratories are already in operation, and soon two more will be added to them.
