PANAGYURISHTE, (BM) – Your briefly report on March 9 in last twelve hours from BulgarianMilitary.com:
Assad regime forces violate ceasefire in Idlib
Forces of Syria’s Bashar al-Assad regime violated the latest ceasefire agreement between Turkey and Russia 10 minutes after it was implemented.
Anadolu Agency correspondents said that by the end of the first day of the ceasefire, regime forces had violated the agreement 15 times.
The regime, which continued the violations Saturday and Sunday, engaged in harassment fire with a machine gun on a Turkish military convoy transporting supplies.
Elements of the regime also fired three mortar shells near another unit.
Harassment fire overnight by regime artillery in villages in Syria’s Idlib province continued for about an hour.
Yesterday, regime forces were determined to advance to points in Kafr Nabl village, a buffer zone south of Idlib, with two tanks, two armored personnel carriers and many militia convoys.
North Korea fires three projectiles into sea, South Korea says
North Korea launched multiple short-range projectiles into the sea on Monday as part of ongoing firing drills, a week after it resumed missile tests following a three-month break, South Korea’s military said.
The projectiles included artillery fired from a multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) and flew up to 200 kms (124 miles) and reached 50 km in altitude, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
They were launched from the eastern coastal town of Sondok, home to a military airfield where nuclear-armed North Korea fired missiles last year, the JCS said in a statement.
The JCS said the latest test appeared to be part of firing drills that have been under way since late last month and personally overseen by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
After a three-month halt in missile testing, North Korea tested an MLRS on March 2, which Seoul officials said was part of the same exercises.
Air defense troops to strike enemy missiles and drones in large-scale Urals drills
Over 10,000 anti-aircraft gunners will practice fighting enemy cruise missiles and drones during drills in the Orenburg Region in the Urals, Central Military District Commander Colonel-General Alexander Lapin said.
“The field exercise will take place at the Donguz training range in the Orenburg Region for the first time and involve over 10,000 troops and more than 1,100 items of military hardware,” the commander said.
The anti-aircraft gunners will hold a series of drills to fight cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, “employing a comprehensive system that consists of reconnaissance, command and control, surface-to-air missile fire, electronic warfare and aerosol countermeasures subsystems,” he added.
The troops of the Central Military District are simultaneously conducting other field exercises at the training ranges in the Altai and Chelyabinsk Regions and on the territory of Tajikistan, the District’s press office said.
