Poland is going to spend $110 million for Javelin missile systems

WARSAW, (BM) – Poland will be able to acquire American Javelin anti-tank missile systems, including 79 launchers and 180 missiles for them. The US State Department approved the possible sale of military equipment, learned BulgarianMilitary.com according DSCA statement.

“The Department of State has decided to endorse the possible sale to Poland of 180 Javelin missiles and 79 launchers, as well as related equipment,” said the US Department of Defense Department for Defense Cooperation and Security.

According to the agency, the deal is in the interests of the United States, as it is aimed at improving the security of the US partner and ally in NATO. Its value was estimated at $ 100 million.

As BulgarianMilitary.com wrote, earlier US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said the Pentagon was alarmed by Russia’s desire for regional dominance. The head of the US defense department mentioned the Russian Federation in his written testimony to the House of Representatives.

Esper noted that a demonstration of Russian hypersonic missile weapons confirms the Pentagon’s fears of Moscow’s growing military capabilities.
