According to him, the attacks were carried out by artillery and drones in response to an attack by the Syrian air force on the position of the Turkish military in Idlib on February 27, in which 33 soldiers were killed and 32 more were injured.

Akar noted that Russia, supporting Damascus, was informed of the deployment of Turkish forces in Idlib.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on the morning of February 28 that the Turks had come under fire because they were among the militants advancing in Idlib.

The Russian military was given the coordinates according to which Turkish forces should not be in the area of ​​the settlement of Behun, on which the strike was inflicted, the department emphasized.
