DAMASCUS, (BM) – The victims of the Syrian Air Force air strike in the Syrian province of Idlib were two Turkish soldiers who died, two more were injured, as we reported early today.
The statement of the Turkish soldiers was made in the Ministry of National Defense of Turkey.
“As a result of an airstrike on our positions in Idlib province, two of our soldiers were killed and two more were injured. They immediately attacked the military facilities of the regime (Syrian President Bashar al-Assad),” reads the department’s Twitter account.
As we reported a few hours ago, the Turkish military and the militants supported by them tried three times to bring down Russian and Syrian military aircraft over the provinces of Idlib.
Accordign to local sources is about at least one Russian Su-34 fighter and Syrian fighter-bombers Su-22, which attacked the positions of jihadists in the southern part of Idlib province. The defeat of combat aircraft was avoided due to the timely shooting of heat traps.
Recall that the situation in Idlib intensified sharply in early February. After the first bombardment of the Turkish military in the Syrian province in early February, five Turkish soldiers were killed, and as many were injured. After which Ankara struck at 115 objects of the Syrian army.
This was repeated a second time later. Against this background, the command of the Syrian armed forces reported that any aircraft that violated the airspace of the country would be regarded as an enemy combat target.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan announced his readiness to resume the military operation in Syria and called the beginning of the military operation “a matter of time”. The Turkish leader also said that Syrian troops should leave the territory in Idlib before the end of February.
