ANKARA, (BM) – Head of the opposition Nationalist Movement Party (PNA) of Turkey Devlet Bahceli called diplomatic efforts to resolve the Syrian crisis meaningless, learned BulgarianMilitary.com quoting Anadolu agency.
“Without the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad, stability cannot be achieved in Syria or Turkey. The Turkish people should plan a possible operation to advance in Syria right up to control over Damascus. The oppressors must be destroyed,” Bahceli believes.
On January 31, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his readiness to use force to ensure stability in Syria.
“Ankara cannot remain indifferent to the situation in Syria, including what is happening in Idlib,” he said, speaking at a meeting of the heads of representations of the ruling Justice and Development Party.
According to Erdogan, any event in Syria affects the interests of Turkey to the same extent as what is happening on Turkish territory.
“Turkey stands for stability in Syria. Ankara is ready to take all necessary steps for this, up to the use of military force,” the Turkish leader said.
The president promised that Turkey would not go in cycles in the fight against Kurdish troops and “turn a blind eye to the lawlessness perpetrated by the Bashar al-Assad regime.”
