Foreign aircraft regularly conduct reconnaissance near the borders of Russia. They are often seen in the Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory, over the Baltic Sea and near Russian bases in Syria.
The Department of Defense has repeatedly called on the US command to stop such intelligence operations, but the Pentagon refuses to do so.
RQ-4 Global Hawk is an American strategic reconnaissance UAV. Developed by a subsidiary of Northrop Grumman. The first drone of this type began combat missions in March 2006.
