DAMASCUS, (BM) – A few hours ago, the Syrian Air Force base in the province of Hama was attacked by terrorists using unmanned aerial vehicles, learned bulgarianMilitary.com, quoting Avia.pro.
Reports at least three drones launched, which were successfully shot down by air defense systems, as evidenced by one of the militants’ drones demonstrated.
The terrorist attack on the Syrian military base, obviously, was associated with attempts to disrupt the offensive operation in Idlib, where militants suffer serious losses and are rapidly losing control of the regions and towns.
It is known that terrorist drones were shot down long before they arrived at the Syrian Air Force base, which most likely indicates the Syrian army’s readiness to repel terrorist attacks both on the ground and in the air.
It is not known which region of Syrian Idlib launched a drone, however, the UAVs flew along a predetermined path and was not controlled by militants, which may indicate that the attack was carried out from areas remote from the front, since the entire border zone was closely monitored by the Syrian army in order to prevent militants from counterattacking.
