PANAGYURISHTE, (BM) – Your briefly report on December 24 in last six hours from BulgarianMilitary.com:
Lebanon calls on international community to prevent Israel violating of its sovereignty
Lebanon’s caretaker Defence Minister, Elias Bou Saab, yesterday called on the international community to intervene to prevent “repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanese sovereignty”.
Referring to the Lebanese army’s report on the Israeli violations on Sunday, Bou Saab slammed what he described as “Israel’s blatant attack on Lebanon’s airspace”.
On Sunday, the Syrian army’s air defence system said it had intercepted missiles coming from the direction of Israel that were aimed at targets on the outskirts of the Syrian capital. Four cruise missiles were believed to have been launched through Lebanese airspace towards Syria, according to the regional military alliance that supports Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad.
Israel has launched hundreds of missiles towards Syria in recent years, targeting Iranian-backed militias operating in the country as well as supplies sent by pro-Iranian Lebanese Hezbollah to support Al-Assad’s forces.
Iran’s Afghan mercenaries threaten Israel: Final target is the Golan
Iranian-recruited Afghans affiliated with the group Liwa Fatemiyoun posted a video on Tuesday showing them near the Golan Heights and claiming that they had come to fight the “Zionists.”
The Fatemiyoun are a group of Afghan Shi’ites recruited by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to fight in Syria on the side of the Syrian regime. They have played a key role in some battles near Palmyra and they are now continuing to train and live in Syria.
The video was posted to a Twitter account affiliated with the Fatemiyoun and links to a longer version of a documentary about the role of the Afghans in Syria. It is mostly a propaganda film about how they came to fight ISIS and save Shi’ite sites.
The longer online version is not centered on Israel as much as the one minute clip they posted to Twitter. The clip shows them near the Golan Heights and claiming that their final target is Israel.
Navy upgrading airfields with 24×7 surveillance and real-time alerting
The Indian Navy is working towards upgrading the security infrastructure of its naval airfields by planning to install systems providing continuous surveillance, real time alerting and immediate response to a threat.
The matter came to light in a report of the Standing Committee on Defence which was presented to the Lok Sabha Speaker on Friday. The Navy is progressing a comprehensive case for upgrading the security infrastructure of its airfields. Six naval air stations are being addressed at a projected cost of Rs 500 crore.
“This project will leverage technology to provide seamless 24×7 surveillance, physical barriers, real time incident alerting and swift response through a robust and secure command and control system,” the Committee noted.
