PANAGYURISHTE, (BM) – Your briefly report on December 12 in last twelve hours from BulgarianMilitary.com:
US aircraft carrier escorted out of Gulf by Iran
Satellite images have been released showing a US Navy aircraft carrier being escorted away by Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) craft today, amid a year of heightened tensions in the Gulf waters.
The group of 20 small crafts reportedly surrounded and allegedly “harassed” the USS Abraham Lincoln, as well as the group of American ships it was leading including the guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf and the guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut, during their transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

The incident took place last week, though the satellite images were revealed and circulated yesterday.
According to today’s status of the marine tracker, the current location of the USS Abraham Lincoln is in the Indian Ocean just beyond the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz. The USS Harry Truman, another US aircraft carrier, will be replacing it and is currently in the Mediterranean on its way to the Gulf.
The Iranian interference in US naval activity comes roughly three weeks after the USS Abraham Lincoln entered the waters around the Strait of Hormuz, which made headlines due to the volatile situation between Iran and the US and its allies in the Gulf.
Iran says it foiled ‘very big’ foreign cyber-attack
Iran has foiled a major cyber-attack on its infrastructure that was launched by a foreign government, Iranian Information and Communications Technology Minister Mohammad-Javad Azari Jahromi said on Wednesday, two months after reports of a U.S. cyber operation against the country.
U.S. officials told Reuters in October that the United States had carried out a secret cyber strike on Iran after the September 14 attacks on Saudi oil facilities, which Washington and Riyadh blamed on Tehran. Iran denied involvement in the attacks, which were claimed by Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement.
“We recently faced a highly organized and state-sponsored attack on our e-government infrastructure which was… repelled by the country’s security shield,” Azari-Jahromi was quoted by the semi-official Mehr news agency as saying.
“It was a very big attack,” Azari-Jahromi said, adding that details would be revealed later.
It was not clear whether Azari-Jahromi was referring to the U.S. cyber-attack, which U.S. officials said took place in late September and targeted Tehran’s ability to spread “propaganda”.
Asked about Reuters’ October report of a cyber-attack, Azari-Jahromi said then: “They must have dreamed it.”
Russia, Turkey see stabilization in N. Syria: Official
Russia and Turkey achieved stabilization in northern Syria under a bilateral deal, Russia’s presidential envoy for Syria said on Wednesday.
The situation is improving in the civil war-weary country thanks to the implementation of the Russia-Turkey deal on Syria, Alexander Lavrentyev told reporters in the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan on the sidelines of a regular meeting of the Astana peace talks on Syria.
“The situation in northeastern Syria in the wake of the implementation of the Russia-Turkey memorandum was discussed at the meeting in Nur-Sultan.
We see stabilization in northeastern Syria. I think the Russian and Turkish sides are satisfied with the development of the situation,” he said.
On Oct. 9, Turkey launched Operation Peace Spring to eliminate terrorists from northern Syria, east of the Euphrates River in order to secure Turkey’s borders, aid in the safe return of Syrian refugees, and ensure Syria’s territorial integrity.
