This, according to TV channel “218” on Wednesday, said Chief of Staff of the Navy of the Armed Forces, Major General Faraj Mahdaui.

“I have an order, in the case of approaching research vessels (for the purpose of exploration – approx. TASS), I will drown them,” said the military leader. “He was received from Haftar.” According to him, the army “will free the capital and destroy the dream of the Turks.”

Since the beginning of this week, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has already twice announced Ankara’s readiness to send his military to Libya if a corresponding request is received from Faiz Saraj, the Government of National Accord (GNA) sitting in Tripoli, on the basis of an agreement concluded with him.

This is a memorandum of understanding signed by the parties on November 28 in Istanbul, the first paragraph of which provides for the establishment of military cooperation, and the second concerns the delimitation of maritime zones between countries, which, in particular, provides for the possibility of exploration and mining by Turkey of mineral resources in the exclusive economic zone of Libya.

The House of Representatives (HP, elected parliament) of the country called these agreements illegitimate, urging the United Nations to strip the Tripoli Cabinet of international mandates and turning to the League of Arab States (LAS) with a demand to apply the provisions of the collective defense treaty of member countries in response to the threat of invasion.

On Tuesday, the LNA spokesman, General Ahmed al-Mismari, said Ankara had ceased to conceal its aid to the armed forces in Tripoli.
