Iran secretly transfers short-range missiles into Iraq to build a secret arsenal

WASHINGTON, (BM) – US authorities believe that Tehran secretly throws short-range ballistic missiles into Iraq, which can be used in the event of an attack on Iran, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, according report on Wednesday by the electronic version of the newspaper The New York Times.

According to the sources of the publication from among the US military and intelligence officers, “Iran took advantage of the chaos in Iraq to build up a secret arsenal of short-range ballistic missiles” in this country. The material does not specify which types of weapons are in question.

According to the newspaper, missiles can be used to strike at Israel or at places where the US military is located.

BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Abbas Mousavi warned on Monday that Tehran would respond with “crushing blow” to any Israeli attack against it.

Mousavi described the recent series of threats against Iran by Israeli officials as a “sign of weakness and impotence” and an attempt “to cover up the crises and domestic problems of the occupation (Israeli)leaders”.

He stressed that Iran will not hesitate for a moment to defend its existence and security and will respond with a “crushing blow” to “any aggression or foolhardy action”.
