Russia is Offering UAE to Produce Components for Su-57 Fighter Jet

MOSCOW, (BM) – Just a few days ago, the US said that there had been no active discussions with the UAE so far about the purchase of the US stealth fighter F-35. This prompted Russia to offer the UAE the opportunity to produce the components needed to develop the Russian equivalent, the Su-57, if a deal is reached between the two countries.

We remind you that the UAE and Russia are currently negotiating the purchase and sale of Russian air defense systems S-400 and the possibility of a deal is great.

According to Sergey Chemezov, Russia has accepted the option to provide production of some components to countries willing to buy the Su-57. Such are currently Turkey, India and the UAE.

If one of the three deals were carried out and Russia transferred part of the aircraft’s production to another country, it would greatly assist in fighter pricing, not only for the Russian Federation but also for the buyer country.

We remind you that, according to plan, Russia must have a total of 76 Su-57 aircraft by the end of 2028, and it is financially important that part of the production be carried out on the other hand.

“Su-57 – India, most likely Emirates. They have been considering and discussing it [buying these aircraft] for a long time, although no decision has been delivered yet,” Chemez told reporters. “Localization [has been offered] … It does not matter whether it is [the] United Arab Emirates, India or Turkey, we will rely on what they can do,” Sergey Chemezov told reporters.

All this means that Russia is now ready to offer the future buyer of Su-57 industrial cooperation in the field.

Let us not forget that in the last few months the Russian Federation has been active in the Middle East and the region. Russia has already sold S-400 air defense systems to Turkey, is currently manufacturing these systems for India’s purchase, and has recently offered the same to the UAE. Syria and Iran have already Russian S-300 air defense systems, and some Balkan countries too.

This reinforces the influence of the Russian Federation and undermines US influence.

One important condition, however, was highlighted by Chemezov in his statement. If, until now, the buyer did not have the potential and production capacity in question to produce such technologies, then Russia would not be involved in financing the construction of such technologies.

Currently, only India and Turkey have them, while the UAE doesn’t.
