BEIJING, (BM) – A few days ago, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that Turkey would create a security zone in northern Syria on its own, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
According to Erdogan, this is necessary to ensure the security of the Turkish borders and for the return of refugees to the SAR.
On the same day, Turkish Minister of Defense Hulusi Akar, speaking at the Istanbul University of National Defense, announced that about 10 of thousands of troops would be able to provide patrols throughout the length of the security zone being created in northern Syria.
According to Akar, Turkey intends to complete the defeat of ISIS terrorists (banned in the Russian Federation) on the east bank of the Euphrates. But it began, according to reports, with the defeat of the Turkish special forces.

Thus, the Chinese information resource Sohu writes that the advance detachment of the Turkish Armed Forces special forces, which forced the Euphrates in the northern part of the SAR (probably east of Manbij), was defeated by “diverse forces”, including ISIS. In total, the detachment, which was probably carrying out a reconnaissance mission, included about 30 Turkish military personnel. According to other sources, we are talking about several detachments of the Turkish special forces. At the same time, the Chinese portal refers to publications made by militants in controlled accounts on social networks. ISIS militants claim that they attacked a group of Turkish soldiers. 12 people are said to have been killed.
It is also added that the remaining representatives of the Turkish special forces group were captured.
Sohu recalls that in 2017, Turkish special forces were already defeated in northern Syria. Then the quick reaction detachment was ambushed by Kurdish armed groups supported by the United States.
