BEIJING, (BM) – China is developing a marine-based radar system for tracking of invisible aircraft, learned BulgarianMilitary.com, quoting MilitaryWatch.
It is optimized to be able to track US fifth generation aircraft like F-35 and F-22.
According to latest information, the system has received protection against the AGM-88 HARM high-speed anti-radiation missile.
It is known that the radar operates under all weather conditions. It can track marine and air targets at a distance of hundreds of kilometers.
In China, stealth aircraft and anti-radiation missiles are considered as a major threat to its defence and significant funds for the new radar have been allocated.
According to local media, the radar waves of the new system will be redirected from satellites or aircraft to the ships. This will allow surveillance of the entire maritime territory bordering the country.
