PANAGYURISHTE, Bulgaria (BulgarianMilitary.com) – The Russian State Research and Production Enterprise Region ‘GNPP Region’, part of JSC Tactical Missiles Corporation, has completed trials and will soon begin serial production of its new APR-3M air-launched anti-submarine warfare missile, Jane`s reported.
“All the trials of the APR-3M missile have been completed, the process of its serial production has been organised, and its deliveries to the Russian Defence Ministry are under way,” company CEO Igor Krylov told Russian state media. “In the near future we will also start promoting this missile for exports. The APR-3M is integrated into the armament of a Ka-27M modernised anti-submarine warfare helicopter.”
China has launched two new Type 052D guided-missile destroyers as it continues its push to upgrade its naval power, South China Morning Post reported.
However, some analysts now believe that the pace of shipbuilding will slow as the People’s Liberation Army starts to place more emphasis on training and personnel.
The two new warships were launched at the Dalian shipyard in northeast China last Friday.
Cobham has been selected by Boeing to supply the complete oxygen system for its T-X Trainer aircraft, UKDJ reported.
The system, say the firm, is comprised of Cobham’s SureSTREAM oxygen concentrator, pilot breathing regulators and a back-up oxygen system with fill valve.
“SureSTREAM improves oxygen delivery and pilot safety by automatically adjusting the concentration of oxygen delivered to the pilot during flight. The system meets the oxygen system operating requirements for the Advanced Pilot Training Program specifications for the T-X Trainer. With pilot safety as a core business, Cobham continues to invest in next generation technology to better protect pilots by meeting individual physiological demands of oxygen.”
The Sea Wolf (Denizkurdu) 2019 military exercise has launched on Monday simultaneously in three seas, Defence and Technology reported.
The Turkish navy will perform the Deniz Kurdu 2019 exercise in the eastern Mediterranean, Aegean and Black Sea with 131 warships, 57 warplanes and 33 helicopters by May 25.
Domestic and national weapon systems including high-speed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Simsek and anti-surface defence boat Albatros will take part in the drills. High-level submarines, frigates, naval artilleries, armed UAVs, as well as search and rescue units will also participate.
