The matter in hand is a transfer to the region of additional bombers and Patriot surface-to-air missile (SAM) complexes, according to a source from the US government, quoted by TASS. Also according to this source, the question at issue is whether, if necessary, to transfer the above-mentioned Patriot complexes. However, if it happens, it is not clear in which countries the complexes will be positioned.

BulgarianMilitary.com has no confirmation of the above information by an official representative of the US Government.

According to the Russian news agency, however, the decision of possible transfer of the military units concerned depends on an analysis of the United States to show whether Iran has taken action and measures to reduce the threat and tensions in the Middle East.

According to AP, the United States understands the meaning of “threats” as a transfer of Iranian missiles into the sea.

BulgarianMilitary.com recalls that on May 5 the Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs (APNSA) John Bolton said that the United States sent to the Middle East the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier to be a warning to the Iranian government. In addition to the aircraft carrier, a tactical group of bombers was also sent to the area of responsibility of the US Air Forces Central Command. The area in question mainly includes territories from the Middle East and North Africa.
