HASKOVO, Bulgaria (BulgarianMilitary.com) – Over 500 soldiers with approximately 130 combat and special equipments from the military formations in Asenovgrad, Yambol, Karlovo, Smolyan, Blagoevgrad, Vratsa, Kazanlak, Svoboda and Musachevo took part in the training. For the second consecutive year, military intelligence formations from the Land Forces have participated in such training.
“I was glad to see that the artillerymen continue to develop, to use everything new that has been acquired, furthermore, in the best possible way. They are trying to put innovations into practice, global achievements and all that with the technical equipment we have.” This is what Deputy Chief of DefenceLieutenant General Dimitar Iliev said during the field camp training with the artillery formations of the Land Forces, which takes place from April 1st to April 19th on the Koren polygon.
During the training, tactical teachings with combat artillery shooting of the artillery division, reactive battery of the 4th Artillery Regiment, and the Batteries of the self-propelled artillery divisions of the mechanized brigades in Karlovo and Stara Zagora were held.
The training goals were coordination of the actions of different types of systems in pursuance of complex fire tasks, command and control of the artillery fire, demonstration the fire capabilities of the artillery material unit and the interaction between the artillery for immediate and general fire support in the Land Forces formations.
A test was also carried out on the artillery fire control information network, which is made up of two components – a fire control program and a data transmission system. The program was developed by Major Vesselin Antonov – an artillery officer from the 4th Artillery Regiment headquarters.
“I congratulate my colleagues on their perseverance and efforts. The weather is relatively good, but they have trained in very harsh conditions – in torrential rain, cold weather, yet the results are extremely good, for which I thank them!“. With these words, Deputy Chief of DefenceLieutenant General Dimitar Iliev expressed his satisfaction with what was shown during the training.
