MOSCOW, the Russian Federation (BulgarianMilitary.com) – The Russian Federation has announced that it has carried out the last delivery of Russian Su-35 fighter jets to China, with which it has fulfilled its $ 2.5 billion contract signed in 2015, learned BulgarianMilitary.com.
“In accordance with the contract, all Su-35 aircrafts have been delivered to the foreign customer”, the Russian Ministry of Defence said in the official statement.
China became the first buyer of Russian Su-35 fighters. The contract for delivery of 24 fighter jets to China was signed in 2015, amounting to about $ 2.5 billion, with the agreement also providing ground equipment and spare engines supply.
Indonesia became the second foreign customer of Su-35. Signing a contract with this country for the delivery of 11 fighter jets happened in early 2018. According to the contract, the first aircrafts must be delivered to Indonesia this year. However, the implementation of the Indonesian contract faces a number of difficulties caused by the US sanctions. Russian diplomats say this will not affect the supplies of the aircrafts in question.
The first flight of the Su-35S supersonic fighter from the 4++ generation was held on 19 February 2008. It was developed on the basis of the Su-27 fighter. The mass the Su-35S is 19 tons and the upper flight level is 20,000 meters, the maximum speed is 2,500 km/h, it has one-person crew. Armament – 30 mm autocannon, up to 8 tons of combat equipment (missiles and bombs of different types). The Russian Air Force put the Su-35S into operation in 2015.
