ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (BulgarianMilitary.com) – On 19th February 2019 Leonardo announced that the company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) at the IDEX International Defence Exhibition in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, learned BulgarianMilitary.com
The goal of the MoU is to enhance the collaboration of both companies in the naval sector after years of successful partnership for the development of the naval capabilities of the United Arab Emirates.
Under the newly signed MoU, Leonardo and Abu Dhabi Ship Building will work together to develop a Combat Management System (CMS) Integration Laboratory for testing, maintaining and evolving the software of Leonardo’s CMS system, which is in operation on more than twenty of the ships of the UAE Navy. In addition, the companies will explore the development of a joint logistic support solution for preventive and corrective sustainment and a local spare parts inventory for the naval systems of Leonardo.
The collaboration under this MoU will definitely improve lead-time, repairs turnaround time and overall systems maintenance and will pave the way for increased technology and knowledge transfer to the benefit of UAE industries.
From Leonardo commented that they are excited about the continuation of the long-standing partnership with Abu Dhabi Ship Building, which now could involve more UAE industries.
