ARLINGTON, Virginia, the USA (BulgarianMilitary.com) – Last week on 15th January 2019 BAE Systems announced that the company will continue to provide operations and support for the United States Navy under a newly signed five-year contract, learned BulgarianMilitary.com
Under that new $79.8 million contract BAE Systems will assist the United States Navy in operating and maintaining numerous communication, electronic, and computing platforms.
Mark Keeler, VP and GM of BAE Systems’ Integrated Defence Solutions business, commented, “We are maintaining ship-to-shore, shore-to-aircraft, and shore-to-shore long-range communications systems. Our work is enabling naval, joint, agency, and coalition forces to effectively communicate and operate across the Pacific and Indian Oceans.”
Under the program that supports the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station across the Pacific region, BAE Systems will continue to provide 24/7 operations and maintenance support for afloat and ashore command, control, communications, computer, and intelligence systems and service the U.S. Navy’s Mobile User Objective System, a narrowband military communications satellite system that offers enhanced and secure communications, including voice, video, and data for all branches of the Department of Defence and other federal agencies.
The major part of the works under the newly signed agreement will be executed in the United States in Oahu, Hawaii. Some additional works will be performed in Australia in Geraldton.
