Palomar Display Products, Inc. proudly announced last week, on 6th June, the receipt of two contracts at the total amount of $9.3 million for delivery of military biocular display systems for the purposes of M1 Abrams tank and Bradley Fighting Vehicle (BFV). The systems will be delivered till the end of 2018 and in 2019 as well.
Palomar Display Products has designed, tested and qualified the biocular optically coupled display systems, which are intended for integration on vehicles for the needs of the U.S. Army and international customers.
The U.S. third-generation main battle tank M1 Abrams is named for General Creighton Abrams. It is highly mobile, well-armed and heavily armoured. It is intended for modern armoured ground warfare.
The U.S. BFV is manufactured by BAE Systems Land and Armaments and is named for U.S. General Omar Bradley. The Bradley fighting vehicle platform is used for transportation of infantry or scouts with armour protection, while providing covering fire for suppressing armoured vehicles and enemy troops.
